Fastest Quad Speed Record-104mph [Archive]

That record can be beatin easily, i could beat that if i changed the my gearing a little and i would still have a lot of low end, i'm sure somebody went faster on a quad, thats just the only official record, but that would be scary no doubt about it

Cool story, but I would have to question the speed record, I believe Dean Sundahl has exceded those speeds in his glory days at the Baja..:cool:

Heavy D how could you just change your gearing and go just as fast as a 1100cc 152hp quadbike, with just your normal quad. Yeah it could have many mods but I don't think that you would even be able to keep up with this one. I can't really say, I have no idea what kind of quad you ride. That thing is almost like a street bike.

if i got a few more teeth in the front and a few less in the back i could do well over a 100, it definitely won''t have as much low end as a 1100cc 152hp quadbike, but i'm just saying with my setup it can be easily done, i have no idea how fast it is now, but it scares ya, but being blind and death and if all i could do is feel what going on i'd **** my pants :eek2:

Do it deaf AND blind at 104 mph then come back and let us know what it was like.

That was the entire point to the article.

You quad won't do 100+ with a few more teeth here a few less there. You need serious HP and besides you need to add a blindfold and earplugs.

Heavy D does....

...he needs to do some homework before he makes wild claims about taking his quad up to those speeds...theres alot more than just changing gears... I'll start off with a hint.... aerodynamics buddy.

It's cool that HE did it but 104 on a quad isn't so fast. Lots of Banshees can run 104 top speed.

I've never rode, seen, or even heard of anyone that actually had a Banshee that would do more than 85 mph on GPS. The only one I've ever heard of that will do anywhere close to 104 is the Trinity 500CC Nitro-Methane Banshee! Save the Bull$hit for your granny's flowerbed!:D

I have a video I got off of Kazaa that shows a Banshee race a Mustang GT in a 1/4 mile on pavement, and the Banshee just smokes the Mustang. Not sure what the Car or Quad had done to them, but they are both into it.

Well, we radared my old 2001 Banshee at 89mph. it had wiseco prolites, toomies, k&n's off the carbs, boyseen reeds, slight port job, and high gearing. so i think its very possible to get quads to up speeds like that. Its really awsome for somebpody with those disabilities to do such an amazing feat.

Dude try researching before you start posting. There has been many Banshees run over 100 mph in the 1/8th mile let alone top speed. We have 2 around here that have and they're not no Trinity either. Try doing a search.

You havent been around a whole lot of Banshee's then bro. If a Trinity bike can run 100, then theres a whole lot more that will drag that thing faster than it will go on its own power.;)

700 rotax engine with a banshee trans in a lsr drag frame would do well over 104mph IMO. I guess that not an opinion sujuect tho :)

yeah i've seen a few quads that do over 104mph. yeah its amazing that hes doing it blind and deaf. but for the idiots on here sayin u cant get a quad to run over a 104. they're crazy and need to do a little more research.

Yep they are called Crankinstieners. Basicly they cut the transmission off of a Banshee and weld a Rotax engine to it. I got a buddy with one but it keeps breraking. But real fast!!!!

this guy that i kno got a banshee to hold for a friend, and it was set up for pure racing, everything motor wise u can think of, and it was a custom 455 cylinder and sleeve, and we change the gearing front and rear, and o yea the rear tires to 22in shotz,we raced a truck (one of us that was riding it) along 27 and we were clocked by the truck that just got new exhaust, chip, and new tach, speedo, we were clocked at 120mph, u guys might not believe me, but trust me on this whne i got on that thing i could barely hold on, that was a speed rust from hell hahahahha :devil:
