AVI to MPEG

does anyone who makes videos a know soem stuff about it know if i can get a free program somewhere that will convert AVI files to MPEG files??? i know that NTI CD And DVD maker 7 platinum or somethign has features on it, but i uninstalled it months ago cuz i never used it....then with pinnacle 8 the setting was 'captured video is in avi format', so i need to change them to mpg(i also changed the setting to captured to mpg....) any help would be appreciated....

mpg and mpeg are interchangeable formats

back on topic search for WinMPG on download.com, this converts avi to any file format

i talked to him on AIM and he and i are using the WinMPG. its nice but not the greatest quality :(
