I just bought a pair of used Elka's from 03 300ex , and I have put them on and they are valved for 400ex shocks but I have +2+1 a-arms on my 300ex. They just don't seem like they are working right , i dunno maybe it is just me. Shoudl I get them revalved? They are smoother than the stockers when i jump and stuff btu I thought they would be alot smoother than what they are. Thanks Ryan

they are valved for a 400ex....that says it right there...the weight differnece makes your stiffer i think....get them revalved for YOU & YOUR QUAD and elkas will be very good.

get them revalved for your setup for your weight. they might be valved for 400ex a-arms for a 200lb rider, while you have +2's and may only weigh 140lb. causing them to be alot stiffer. there is also a very good chance it is just the springs in this case. a set of softer springs might be just what you are looking for. I would give elka a call and see what they have to say. they helped me out with mine. all it was was the main springs were set up for a heavier rider than me.
