300ex help!!!

Hi
im goin to get a 300ex next week and i just wanted to know if u can hook up either a kick or pull starter to one.(Can u buy a kit)

a little while ago people were talking about putting a 250x kick start on there 300ex but i am not sure if it can be done but if i can it would be a lot of work sreach for it. hope this helped a little but pushing a button seems better then kicking to me (maybe b/c mine is a kick start) l8er

you can, but it involves machining the side case and other PITA stuff. if your battery ever dies, you can just bump start it.

yeah its to much trouble man..if u want a kickstart just buy a 250x or sumtin like that

it only saves 11lbs........ i dont think its worth it

i dont race i just ride in the woods and i just want a back up starter because when im 3 hours in the woods i dont wanna tow my bike home

it's almost impossible! but it can be done. you better know a really good friend who is a machineist and willing to donate his time. the side cases are different they have a different oil pump. plus there are differences in the headss due to the decompression cable needed to kick it over, there's just so much you have to do it's not worth it. trust me i've done been there tried it and gave up due to money and frustration. trust me you can push it fast enough to bump start it.
