Pop up ad's

Ya what can i do to get rid of these stuild pop up ad's? I have ad aware 6.0 that my cable internet company told me to run but it doesn't seem to work very good.PLease help.........

there is a program from Earthlink called Pop-Up Blocker. i use that with my cable at my moms house and i never get ads

Theres a lot of ways for these guys to get your number but since so many ISP's collect info on our activities and some have been known to sell or offer that info I cant begin to think of how to 100% eliminate them.

Since some of the more popular programs have been named how do the adware ones perform?

this has a built in pop-up blocker. this is basically IE6.x with a bunch of cool things built in that Microsh*t wont put in IE.

once i got on my friends comp and so many pop ups kept coming up that I spent 5 min straight just tryin to keep closing them but they kept coming back up..... it was crazy.. ive been gettin a few but not as much as that... but they annoy the hell outta me just as much as telephone marketers do

proxymotron. i have it and it works awesome. i have 56k tho so i don't really have much problems with pop ups but i think it will work for you. its worth a try at least. don't have any idea where you can download it, but put a search for "proxymotron" and see what comes up. if worse comes to worse contact me and i'll see if i can send it to you.

Make sure you update you Ad-Aware by either clicking where it says "Check for updates now" or on the picture of the world and magnify glass. When it's done searching make sure you put a check mark on all the files it found so it will delete them.

You could also try SpyBot, I run both of them. They seem to find different things at times.

Ya i downloaded that avant browser.It changed the my tool bars all around and everything.But so far it works opretty good.BUt when i don't have a web page up i get pop up ad;s i don't get it.

I just bought pop up blocker and I STILL get pop ups....PORN:mad: And no..................I didnt get on porn sights..:p Its weird..every time I click on Intenet Explorer all the porn pops up:huh .the ads very seldom pop up, but I cant get ride of all that porn crap.....:grr: Could it be somewhere in a file or something? I dont even let the kids get on it lately for fear they will have scarred there poor lil innocent minds...........:confused2 Any help please........

i look at alot of porn her eon the internet & i never get any porn pop-ups...i do get alot of porn e-mail though :mad:...i'd say it is in file you downloaded or something...get a program called ad-aware, do a search for it on google & download/run the free program, it should fix your porn probl;em :cool:

Ad-aware is the shiznit...

Pop up blockers and killers don't do chit compared to ad-aware...

My ad aware sucks never blocks any pop up ad's it seems like it give me more.

AdAware doesn't block all pop up ads, some websites have ads that pop up when you go to them (no harm no foul, just annoying.) What AdAware does is delete files that have been skulked onto your pc, which in some cases will cause ads to open in other cases can even track your keystrokes. Popup blockers can help block ads when they pop up but they don't stop the spyware from being loaded on to your pc.

Ok, first of all shorten your damn signature.

Then clear out your cookies and temporary internet files. Window Washer is a good program that removes all 'traces' left behind. Then run AdAware and remove all spyware.

I do this like once every 3 weeks or so, and I don't get any rando popups. Just ads on websites, but who cares about them, its easy enough to exit out of.

What you want is a program called Pop up Defender and it FREE.
I run it and it works great . If I would leave my computer for an hour or so there would be 50 pop up adds on it. Now, not even one. Worked for me give it a shot!!!

I got mega pop-ups when I had Kazaa,w/ all the Kazaa hipe lately I removed it and dont have near the problem I did when I had it:blah: seems to depend on the site your on also.......but keep in mind Im computer iliterate:rolleyes: :D :blah:

you need to delete your cookies, download a program called KiWasher, it is a program that you run to delete your internet cache along with your computer cache. The best part is that you can keep cookies that you want so you dont have to log into everything everytime. I use it here at work, I go to soooo many sites that require a username and password. I have no complaints.
