Ok, I removed my choke and put in a #42 pilot jet. When I let off the gas, the bike idles kind of high and then about 10 seconds later, the idle slows down to barley running. Am I running to large of a pilot jet?

Maybe the pilot jet needs adjusted now.

i think he meant the pilot skrew. i would first make sure your throttle cable isn't sticking anywhere. i also assume you have some play in the throttle cable. i would next make sure your clamps are both tight on the carb. also make sure the boot that connects the carb to the head is skrewed in the head tight. maybe make sure your 4 bolts holding the exhaust to the head is on tight. the pilot jet should not be too large. i am running a 45 pilot with 3 turns out on the fuel skrew. i just have an x-6, no airbox lid and no choke.
