Graydon nerf question

Do the Graydon nerf bars stick out wider than the wheel(kinda look like they do in pics)????

Also did they come in a webbing design different other than the standard squares and the new style they have now???

I have Graydon "Internationals" on the R and you can adjust the width on them. I had to drill new holes though...
