I am wondering if a 125 2-stroke dirt bike motor would work in a quad. Has anyone ever done it, got any pics? I was thinking of putting one in my 250x frame, anyone got any info i could use?

it'll work but your power to weight ratio will be screwy.

might as well go 250.

There's a kid that races from here in S.IL that has a blaster with
a YZ 80 motor in it and it rips.
He usually smokes the 90 class and 2 weeks ago at one of the county fairs he got 2nd in the blaster class against the big boys.
Don't get me wrong he's been racing seriously for a few years now and he rides the chit out of it.
I sold a 250X frame to a guy this spring to build a cr80/250X
but i haven't seen any pics yet.

a two stroke 250 engine in a 250x frame will rattle an vibrate ur teef out. you would do better with a 350x engine:(
