is it bad on a motor to keep the throttle pinned when you pull in the clutch to shift. Is that rapid rise and fall of rpm's going to put unnecessary stress on the engine? thanks

oh, and also, i dont always shift like this. I only do it in a drag race or stuff like that.

well yes it will be hard on the engine. when flooring it throughout the gears, your pulling the weight of the atv. when flooring it with the clutch pulled in, there is no weight your pulling which makes it hard. also, a stock clutch may not be able to handle that too long. the tranny probally won't like the stress either. would you definately break something? no, but it is hard on the bike.

Ya pulling in the clutch and keeping it pinned isnt a good idea.

If its for drag racing barely even use the clutch. Just pull the lever in only like 1/4 of the way.

Then u can keep the motor pinned because its almost like not even using the clutch.

Thats the best way. And its alot less stressful on every part of the motor.
