crf yzf engine in 300ex

cuol di put a crf or a yzf 250 engine into my 300ex. And if i could hwat kinda power would it push out and and horse power. and is it worth the work and money

ive heard some guy put the yzf250 motor in a 250r frame and he says its the funnest motor hes had in a quad cause the revs are so crazy and its sooo light. it would defitnetly make more power than your 300ex and i think it would keep up with a stock 400ex. those yzf's are quite the potent motor.

there was one at d34 last year..he was a little bit bigger of a guy..say around 215lbs..he was not a novice eaither he was doing the same thing you guys are talking about but just to see what happened..thing had power once you got it going but forget it going up hills and off the start..lagged and lagged bad..my opinion buy a 400ex and just put a pipe jet kit air filter and youll do better off then what chu have now...joe

i have thought about this and didnt do it because it is not eleigable for the class i race at the gncc.

it would be an awesome play bike and be just as quick as a 400ex if not faster. the 250's should be puming about 30 horse like the 125 2 smokes.

build your yzf250ex and you can have a "mini me" yzf. that would be funny.

i think the wr 250 is electric start wich would be nice. that would be the first motor i looked for.

i don't think the motor could take the stress a quad would put on it... its not ment for the quad...


it would have in the low 30s hp wise... it would be a huge step up from ur 300ex power wise... but it would be like riding a piped 400ex that handles like crap... remember ur quad only lets u go as fast as it can handle the stuff ur riding on...

Hell if ya got the motor already I'd do it!! We want to get one of the 250 motors for our sons blaster now that would scoot right along!! Good luck w/ whatever you do!!;)

if i did do this conversion i would def have a extended front neabd and suspension to go with but when i ride trail im in 3 4 5 gear looking fo rmore some times and when im hitting small speed im looking for more. If i did do this conversion how much woul sthe engine costand a custom pipe.
