ok i have this 87 YZ125 it was just rebuilt it acts like it dont have power and it misses when you have it up and ready to shift ANYONE GOT ANY IDEAS WHATS WRONG????

honestly though-start by checking your jetting. then your air screw, and maybe raise the needle a little.

It's probably not this, but is it a brand new spark plug and how does it look?

the spark plug was all black and had alot of carbon id say its running rich but i dont know if thats the cause of this problem though ...

theres a little thingy on top the motor i forget what it is but i know why does it have like no power at all, its not your jetting my friend had this problem but i forget what it was it was something small! powervalve or something?

i wouldn't know anything about dirtbike powervalves...but good luck. lol

Does the bike run fine untill you open really rev it up? If the YZ was just rebuilt make sure the power valve was hooked up and installed properly. Also make sure the valve was cleaned. The second thing I might check would be the reeds. Maybe a chipped or cracked reed. I would have to guess powervalve though.

nah the clutch isnt slipping , so what should i do if its the power valve ???...and i have new reeds on the way ...thanks for all this help

sounds rich...& the powervalves work best when they are real clean
