I do not have that much knowledge of axles, and I am looking to get one for my b-day...

I like durablue, becasue its cheap and reliable until you go off a 400ft jump

but:
-does it need a new axle carrier, or use stock?
-the same stock hubs can be used?
-I want the 2+2, where can I find a deal?
-anyone selling one?

I recently put a Lonestar on my quad. I chose it over the Durablue because of the warranty. The Durablue is pro-rated where as the Lonestar has a lifetime warranty, they will fix a bent axle with a certain amount of runout or replace it if is not rebendable. The only charge is shipping cost.

The popular choice here is RPM but it is a few $'s more.

I have a Durablue & I have bent it.. I went of a decent jump & landed on one back tire...:ermm: If I was to buy another one it would be a lonestar [because of the warranty]......

you dont have to use a new carrier. I just replaced mine and my carrier was fine i could have used it but to be safe i got a new one. Also check e bay. You can get real good deals. I got a +1 to +4 adjustable RPM for 230 shipped :D

i think all axles come with the sprocket hub. Also stay away from durablue!

out of all the poeple that bashed durablue, how many actually owned one?

anyone have a durablue? and happy? gotta have some positive stuff to it

LSR is like 300 for the axle, and you need the carrier, and the fuggin hubs, what a rip off....i only have at the most 300$, so lsr is out, and rpm is a lot of money

my friend has a durablue on his blaster & it works pretty good.

I would recomend a new locknut because the stock one will keep loosening.

i got lock nut tightened by my mechanic, and it has never loosend since

I think durablue is the way i will go, never bent the stock, and durablue is stronger, so i dont think i will have a problem

like 500 for a fuggin lsr...i am not a yuppie, so dont have that money, barley enough for a durablue

Thats why when Korry Ellis was test riding one, he jumped a 60ft double with one  .

Anyways, LSR or RPM.

As for Axle nuts, it might be smart to replace them with a aftermarket axle nut. My stock one came loose several times but with a pipe wrench, and a 5 foot pool, it has not came loose since then. Better to be safe then sorry, though.

You do not need to replace the carrier or hubs to run the LSR axle. It also comes with the sprocket hub as do all (I think) aftermarket 400ex axles, it is pressed on. I was able to get mine for $315 shipped :)
I would reccommend at least replacing the bearings while it is apart.
I'm sure the Durablue is a fine axle but with the warrenty they have you might be spending more money in the long run if you bend it. That is why I chose the Lonestar.

If you look for a good deal, you can find a LSR for only about $15 more than a durablue. You should be able to use the stock carrier and hubs. You can even use the stock locknut, but I HIGHLY suggest getting an aftermarket locknut, you can pick them up on ebay for roughly $45
