Fastest Stock Quad

i was just wonderin what the fastest stock quad is.. anyone know?

the ds 650 was the fastest .(dirst wheels shoot out ). but who knows the new 450 might take out the ds stock for stock ..

I believe the lt500 still is, but I'm not sure. The lt is definately faster than a ds650. The new Yami might be faster, I'm not sure. Hard to believe though that a 450 4-stroke can run with (possibly outrun) a 500 2-stroke. Die hard two smokers never thought this day would come.

All 2 strokes behave really different when you buy them, there are some banshees that run really hard stock. Plus the gains you get on the banshee when you start modifying it are tremendous.

That could very well be true. It might not smoke em, but it would probably beat em, and if not it would be real close. (This is drag race...throw a turn in and say bye to the Zilla.:p )

as of the time being it's the 450. Honda's new quad/s will be the fastest. did anyone ever hear of that Italian quad? it's a 500cc 4 stroke and it's black. i heard it is REALLY REALLY fast. it came out a few years ago.

don't you think the yfz450 will be faster/more powerful because yamaha seems to make the more powerful engines, while honda focuses mainly on the frame, suspension, handling, etc.

and that italian quad, isn't that the Eraser? i heard that's really fast.

hm, you may be right about the engine. i'm obviously a big Honda fan but that does make sense. but, since this/these will be the first race or high performance quad/s the engine/s will be better and they have to be. i have heard of the Eraser and yes it is very fast but that is not the one i had in mind.

ds 650 is the fastest now, not sure about the older quads.

according to yammy's website, a raptor is faster than the yfz, anyone who knows anything know the ds is faster than a raptor, not to mention a better built bike, so many people underestimate bombardier

You are talking about the VOR 530 (I think thats what it is called) right ? They never put it in production because it would have cost too much, thats how I understood it:confused:

the Vor 530 was never a production quad so it doesn't count. It had a full Rold Design chassis, axis shocks I think, ect ect, that mofo was crazy! Would have costed like $20k+ to produce one.
The only real way to tell which quad had the highest top speed would be to have on huge shootout.
But If I had to GUESS, I'd say the zilla or maybe one of the gas gas'

yeah the VOR never came out, chef as far as i know that husaberg never came out either!

as far as top speed goes i still believe the zilla was the fastest ever. they were really geared down from the factory too, thats why they never hit those really high top speeds they were capable of. modified theres no beating a banshee tho. also stock for stock the kawasaki tecate 4 was faster than a banshee. it may or may not be the second fastest quad ever anymore, i'm not sure.

your correct, except the predator is faster than the raptor if i am not mistaken, if not i know it is faster than the yfz, it max's out at 73 or 74, which is faster than the yfz, and the same i think with the raptor

nah i dont think that the predator is faster but it is very close cuz in dirtwheelz mag they had a 2003 raptor top out at 76.4mph and the yfz is just a lil slower(by 2-4mph) so the pred is probly bout the same as the yfz as far as top speed goes

You can't beat a banshee in a straight line, Dirtwheels just makes these things up, andin 6 months when the hype about the YFZ is gone you'll find the Raptor is faster.

dude as much as i hate to admitt it (being a banshee owner myself) the banshee is not the fastest stock quad but now u put a set of pipes on it and a set of pipes on the quad u are going to race u will hand them there ***. they are just so easy to make fast :D

the vforce is faster then a banshee. my cousin has one and he raced a banshee wit tomey t6 vforce reeds k&n and bigger sprocket and he killed it. by lik 8 quad lenghts and the vforce just keeps getting faster and faster. friggin nutz deffenitly faster then a stock banshee

As far as the 4 strokes are concerned, the DS650 runs between 73-75. Even though its not a production bike, the 1999 Husaberg 600E ran just a little bit over 80. List price was $9700 for the 600, and 8700 for the 400. ;)

Guys we run on an asphalt 1/8th mile here with times and speed from a computer. Banshees in stock form are fastest I've seen. Faster than piped Rs , YFZ'sor Raptors. I've seen a stock one run the 1/8th in 9.1 seconds. Same guy ran 9.1 on a YFZ but no baffle or airbox lid. But yeah pipes and a good rider will run about 8.2 at 75 mph.

i wouldn't doubt that, i want to drag my banshee :( i'm just getting it bored to 364 and i'm having a HotRod crank installed...but i'm planning on trading it in for a YFZ450.

Believe or not, the new yzf was dominating this past weekend at eh Silver Lake sand dunes. It seem to be stock and it was beatinf Raptors and banchees too. The Predator looked awesome too!!
