how fast are the scrambler 500/400's. isn't the scrambler 400 now called a trail blazer 400 or somthing. and is the 400 a 2-stroke. i want to get one for a good friend who hasn't ever ridden a quad but i want it to have power so that i can still use it to have. i need something around the same power as my 300ex.

the scramblers are quite popular at the gncc races....and the locals. they surprise me every weekend withsstanding the abuse they are givin:)

the scramber 500 4x4 is a great quad i think. I rode with one time and it wasnt any slow poke, and it was actually nice to ride wiht something that has 4 wheel drive yet still beable to keep up with me.

my friend has a scrambler 400 4x4, and it is a nice quad. Great for the trails. It sits quite high, so ya gotta be careful on the corners. And if you mod one of them, watch out, theyre fast

I am having troubles with "Best Polaris" its just not one of those things that can be a best, now worst, you would still have the problem that they are all in that catagory :p I am just playing with ya, but I don't like any polaris...

I know 2 people who HAD them, neither liked them always something wrong with the Trail Blazers, its just not a very good quad, its more like something and elderly person might want to just get around, and for a 2 STROKE! It had no power.... I rode it a few times, and didn't like it at all!

it was the first quad i owned...had it for two years, it was a bit modded. i beat a 300ex, but it is really slow. modded it is fast off the line but dies quick. they are easy to wheelie if you know how too. hold the brake, rev the engine and pull back. its a beginners quad tho, or just a sporty rec quad. dont try jumping 40ft doubles with it like i did and casing it lol but it took the abuse. all in all i thought it was a reliable quad for me. the only problem i had was i snapped my swingarm. not sure how but i beat the hell out of that quad so i expected something to break. any more questions feel free to ask :)

btw the 400 and 500 scramblers are great quads. they are fairly fast, and can keep up, plus have 4x4. modded the 400 2stroke will win. but 500s can be made dam fast too.

By modded out I'm not sure if you mean full tilt motor work or just a slip on pipe. I've seen pictures and read articles that people have published with the 400L, 400sport, 400scrambler, 400trailblazer (all the same) with the motor putting out close to 80 horses, on the stock displacement. The 500 can be made into a 628cc monster, stock is about 28 (don't quote me) fully modded puts 60-70hp. Keep this in mind. A kawasaki prarie 650 puts out 31hp and weighs 610lbs wet, the scrambler 500 4x4 puts out 28 and weighs 560lbs. I would suggest a clutch kit for any polaris, HOTSEAT performance specializes in polaris performance.

A guy rides an old sport 400 that can roost all over my EX in a straight line. I think has an Extermintator kit:confused: , correct me if I'm wrong but I think that's what he said. or something like that. My bro had a trailblazer, and it just wasnt made for teens or racers. It's a trail quad, thats it.

hpd and hot seat make killer kits for polaris...the 500 scrambler puts out like 41 hp but it dont seem like it casue of the auto tranny.

My wife has an '02 Trailblazer with a HotSeat performance kit and I have a hard time beating it with my 300ex. She gets me on the holeshot every time but I can get by after a lap or so. The Trailblazer 400's are faster than a 300ex but the suspension is not as good. Hope this helps

wow, same thing i was about to type till i checked..dont try doing doubles with it, no matter the size, just save yourself the agony and dont do it, though the huge *** shock in teh back sure does soak up some hits..and its a fun quad in teh snow when it gets going ...very very very reliable, never do any maintenence to it cept a filter chnage once a year:eek2: and your good to go

yes the 250 is slow but you mod it out and it can get up to 39hp

i just need something to ride around on. it won't be doing any jumps or anything. i just need a quad thats easy for someone thats never ridden one before to ride.

the 400 2 stroke is an awesome engine. my friend dragged me on shale dirt (very loose) and beat me a few times. his is completely stock, mines piped. the 400 2 stroke definately has some balls. it would kick if it was piped i think. the only drawback is the weight\height of it. the same friend tipped it over doing donuts the same day:ermm:
