I am looking for a rear tire that can kick some arse in mud and on trails but still have the stability to be run on a track surface and not be 2 wheeling all the time. I was looking at 20-12-9 ITP Blackwaters. I would like to keep a 20" tire for handling purposes. I need a strong tire. I never had a problem with the stock tires on my trails but I imagine they would let go after some harder riding. As long is it is stronger than the stockers, they should be fine.

Any other tires that would be good? I heard Razr 2's was surprisingly good in the muck. Is this true? Thanks!

If you took off the word track it may be possible. Blackwaters are dinasours..weighing alot more that a mudlight which is about the same as a razor 2.

Blackwaters are one of the worst tires ever made! They don't even do well in the mud! Maxxis Alltracks are a very good trail/mud tire!

Thanks, the Blackwaters just looked gnarly. I guess looks can be deceiving.

I'll check a few other tires. What about Kenda Klaw XC's?

I may just go with Razr's, if they are close or a little better than the stockers in mud, that's fine.

I haven't tried the Klaw's but the side walls look awfully thin.:(

My klaws do pretty good in the mud. Much better than my stockers. I even tried to get stuck a few times and I couldn't with the klaws.

He was skeered, so I had to hold him!

I can talk bad about him since he's not on the site!

get all-tracs, best all around tire imo, I have the 22inch version and they work great. They work excellent in the mud but as soon as we hit dry ground I can get it sideways when I want. If anyone else has experience with these they will say the same as me. I have rode them hard and hit them on rocks and everything and haent had a hole in the 2-3 years I've had them.

Sounds like the all traks are pretty good. They come in 20's right?

Crazy400exMan, Dirt Devils actually are pretty good. My dad's TRX300 had those and he just went through all the mud holes quickly and easily. I could get his sideways on dirt. However, I am looking for something a bit more racier and that comes in 20's.

I am gonna wait until I hear more about the Kenda Klaw. ATV Sport and Dirt Wheels both claimed those to be the best sport tire for the money. When 2 trusted mags say the same thing about a tire, I get a little interested in it.

Thanks again! I will make sure to look at the alltraks.

yah...i dont know how mine perform on a MX track but my dirt devils do perform GREAT in the trails & mudholes. I'd look at some klaws if I was you. Thats what im getting next. Whatever you do dont get C828's for the front of a 400ex. I got them cause they never wear down but it turns like a tractor now. :(
