the stock oil cooler is good from what i have heard but u can get omf air scoops for it to increase air flow when moving at speed and be sure to change your oil if ur not racing a 10w-40 is good but a 50 wait is some times too thick if the weather gets cooler like at night and your engine might not get proper lubrication

i wouldnt worry bout usin a 50 weight oil. Most of us on here use mobil 1 15/50w and dont have any problems. reason being, when you warm up your engine, the synthetic will thin up extremely quickly.

I run a maxima non synthetic 20w 50. I have not had a problem yet, and it is what I was recommended to run by TC. :blah:

Finally someone that doesnt use a synthetic, your clutch will last longer, lol. Im not sure why everyone runs synthetic, no dealer, or local bike shop ever told me to use synthetic in a wet clutch system.

TC recommends a non synthetic oil to be ran with his cam. I believe it has a lot to do with how thin synthetics get. Even though it is a drop in camshaft, it is larger than stock and needs some good lubrication to keep from wearing out the rockers. I'd never run a synthetic period.... My quad is a 00, raced 2 seasons...still on original clutch!!! :eek2:

Synthetic oil is awesome! You have to use the wet clutch compatable types though. It's says it on the back.:D

So red cap mobil 1 15/50 wont hurt the clutch?

Sorry to tell you this, but someone got you a little confused. You are talking about 15 weight oil not 50. It reads 15w/ 50.;)

And I have recently learned that Motorcycle grade synthetic oil does in fact allow the clutch to slip more easily than petroleum oils do. I know this cause I'm 6'2" @ 270lb and I can wring out a clutch pretty good, and mine would chirp and chatter with AMSOIL full synthetic motorcycle oil in it, and stopped since I went back to GN4 10w-40.:macho :D
