I have a 2001 400ex and the clutch is hard to pull. The clutch seems to be working fine, but my hand is getting worn out.
Any suggestions???

Oh yeah I replaced the cable and that was not the problem

Get a new cable, it will help. Make sure you route it correctly. Mine was very hard to pull and I looked at the cable and it was starting to fray. My buddy's 400ex was starting to get a little harder to pull so we lubed the cable up and it helped. Check your cable to see if you need a new one or if yours just needs lubed.

buy the $10 cable luber from whoever. I just replaced my original stock clutch cable after 3 years of use because i lubed it with a cable luber every month. I could tell a slight difference after switching it with a new one. They are worth their weight in gold i think..

Hey yo mofo's.... he already replaced the cable. If you have the cable routed right (no kinks - kinda hard to get a kink) and have it adjusted properly...it should pull in pretty nice. Either you have some internal clutch problems or you need to work on your grip a bit. :blah:

I just thought of this, but how is your lever mounted? Are you using the stock setup? Does your lever move freely without the cable on it... sounds stupid, but worth checking. Make sure its not cranked on there, causing resistance in the lever itself.

It is not the cable nor the lever. And it is not my Kung Fu grip.

It has to be the inside the clutch. What are the systems of bad plates or basket???

Thanks:macho
