I was just thinking about this. Isn't it true that you can get virtually every single part for a 250R from a place like Service Honda or Bike Bandit? If so, why hasn't anyone hand built an R piece by piece with brand new pieces? Sure its a hell of alot of work and money, but Im sure theres at least one engine builder out there willing to take on the task. Imagine, a BRAND NEW 250R.

Alot of the parts are discontinued. I found this out while restoring mine.

I've ridden a bike like that, it wasn't built to look original, just a full on built from scratch racer.

I rode it in Pismo about a year or so ago, it belonged to the cousin of Nic Granlund, the pro racer.

He built it from nothing starting with lsr frame, swinger, arms, axis, and then every R part he needed that wasn't aftermarket he just ordered from Honda.

I will post picks and bump this when I can post pics again.

And they dont make some parts still such as, the seats, seat cover, frames, wiring harnesses (still have them in stock tho) and a few other things I believe.

[/B] If anyone needs these items (not frames) but the others, I found a dealer near me that has a few left over from back in the day. But they are by no means cheap.

I'd like to get my hands on a stock 89 seat cover. I ordered one from ceet for my bike and it came solid red. I was hoping it had 250r written on the sides. let me know.
