Wow, $375 for good head!! That's pretty expensive. Oh.....wait.....I was thinking of........oh, nevermind.
Now about PORTING a head. I sent mine to Trinity and am happy with the results. But this makes me think, I don't think I have ever seen their name mentioned on here. Do they have a bad rep or something?

Well, I'm only about 200 miles west of the Mississippi. Right smack in the middle of the MidWest Coast.:D It seems like all the big shops are on the West coast or back East so I had to send my head by mail no matter what.

i have no idea, but trinity does such a good job selling their work. they must have excelent writers. if you read thru it, it sound real good, but id love to hear from someone to back it up. so you get it done and tell us how it goes.

I would go with TC since you have TC parts, but Rocky Ridge or FDO wouldn't be bad either.

There's a guy in Henderson, NC that does an excellent job!! He's been doing drag bikes since the ex came out in '99. He charge's $200 for trail port and 3 angle. $250 for full race, shortened valve guides, and 3 angle valve job. If you're interested, email me and I'll dig up his number!;)

But dont tell anyone so they dont accuse me of advertising

Last time I checked they were $4-500.00 with an exchange. Then you will have 465 cc to play with or throw in a 85mm stock piston and you have a 440 cc motor.
I have dragged my share of $2500 - 3000.00 modded west coast 440 cc race gas motors with my econo non-ported pump gas 465 with no disapointments;)

I had tried talking to Dean once or twice, never seemed to work out.
Do hear some good things about him and he posts some on a smaller board I check out now and then and seems to be an allright guy etc, but just never seemed to be able to get him.

Pappy, have you called Mike at FDO yet? I'm sure that once you talk to him you'll be convinced they're the right company. I have his 493 stroker motor and love it. I am going to Sand Fest @ Oregon this week, can't wait to do some racin' and see all the big guns there. I have also had LRD build a couple motors for me, but FDO is closer to you. 740-967-1078
FDO has done my motors the last three seasons. Only the last two have been ported. I have been very pleased with the power incress from his porting.
