There are no worries with the hot cams flange comes on the cam :) If I had worries about it I would not have one in my bike

ok now im confused:confused:

fact: hot cams had problems with the flange

fact: they supposedly fixed it

what cam do you have in your engine? no flame...i just cant see installing a cam unless i knew it was from the newer release from hot cams. is there a way we can tell?

The new ones come with a round silver flange and the old ones don't come with a flange at all.

Well if I could post a picture of the new style cam I would.. the newest style has a stock looking flange with no splines and is on with a keyway (I will have Colby explain) but the ones before this have a round flange on splines and the ones before that you had to press your old flange on.. (this is the one I have in my bike). you can tell if these are defective by looking at the splines and if it is a bad one you can see where the machine got off on the cut.

Like I said I will have Colby explain better, so it doesn't sound like mumbo jumbo :ermm:

Pappy I agree I think it is not a good thing to buy off of ebay. Because they are probably the old cams that someone is trying to dump. I only have the new style cams in stock. but before they changed the flange I could look at the cam and tell if it was good or not. The new cams are cool hot cam has machined there own sprocket flange that looks similar to the stock one and has removed the splines from the cam and cut a keyway into it. So as long as you buy a cam from someone that has the new style in stock you will be fine just don't le them send you the old style. As for performance the cams are great they hit hard and pull all the way to the top.

P.S. even after all the upgrades the price is still the same:D
