Ok, i gave up on a bike/quad conversion.
I am getting a rap, then another bike as a spair. I am not really in favor of 2-strokes, seeing how my blaster is going on its 4th topend in 2yrs (blew 2 times):grr:
are they trust worthy, like how often do you need a new topend?
how far can ya go on a tank of gas?
and with some new suspension and tires, would this be a good trail/track bike??
i would look into a 250r, but i know someone with a tecate i can get cheaper than a 250r.

I have never ridden a tecate, but they are supposed to have a little more bottom, and top end power then a stock 250r does. They hold up well, if taken care of, but what sucks is the limited parts availability for the machine. Doesn't handle as well as an r though.
Every once in a while they will pop up in the michigan and indiana swapers, decent ones usually run 2 grand and up.
If you want a 2 stroker, I'd look into a clean 250r, or a banshee instead. Your supposed to rebuild your 2 stroke every 2 years. If your racing, probrably 2 times a season.
i hate are tecate its a over power blaster that you cant buy parts for

Let me through my two cents in. I had a tecate for a while. It had almost no low end on it, but from the mid to top it would pull your arms off. It felt real racy and was by far the fastest quad i have ever ridden. It didn't handle for ***** though. Too narrow and moved all over at high speed. I wouldn't recommend one for tight trails, but if there is room to open it up it wouldn't be a bad bike. It is real hard to get parts for too.
dat 'bot rite monkeyboy?

i like the tecate's, amd the 250r, but the r's are alot of $$$
do you think it would be cheaper to like build a r, or buy a used...by bulid i mean like buy all stock parts off ebay.?
