yzf450!!!!!!!!!!!

i was at the races this weekend, and yamaha was there with their line.

my first up close incounter with the yzf 450......

man this quad is nice. my girlfriend had to pull my off it, with the help of the tech guy that was there.

this thing is super light, and from the looks of it super fast. it is alot smaller than the 400, its like sitting on a blaster, but taller.

one nice quad, the first mod it needs is handle bars, they stock one are shat.

what is honda do'n, they have a sweet crf450f motor just sit'n there, and they have 't put it in a quad yet....man that burns my *****.

honda is losing their rep.

when i went to my dealer for some parts i seen they had the yfz there so i went over to it and looked at it, it is very small it was sitting next to a Z400 and looked like a little kids bike. but big motor in little frame probably makes it light and fast. but it is a very cool looking quad

I don't think Honda is loosing its rep, most of the serious racers are sponsored and its no big deal to put in a CRF450 motor in teir aftermarket frames. Honda has proven reliabilty and they test their stuff before they release it and realize they still had bugs to work out. (The Raptor)

I have had a chance to ride it and its pertty fast and very light probably the best bike out right now in stock form.

i just think their missing out in all the action....... all i'm saying is if they want to be known as the best, they better start making the best. yeah, if u want a crf450 u can make one, but honda should have a quad out with that motor ready to race. thats my 2 cents

Heres my 2 cents go to a midsouth race and look at the startin line...90% of all the 4 wheelers are 400ex's the other 10% bein a few c dales couple z400's and 250r's....go to a LOCAL mx event where there arent any big time sponsored riders what do they ride mostly 400ex's....you see what im sayin the 400 dominates amatuer racing. Imo honda doesnt have a reason to introduce something yet...only reason they wil have introduce something else is the pro production class so they can get back into factory racing deals.

i was at the local drag race 2 weekends ago and i couldnt believe my eyes. they were keepin up with stock banshee's and burning everything in the stock 400 class.

Yep, people go by dirtwheels and all te magazines way to much, the 250r's and 400exs still dominate MX, sure banshees and raptors dominate the 300 yard drags, its all on what you want....

i want honda to come out with the CRF450 based quad, the Z400 has better performance and reverse for the same price as the 400ex!!! Im not trying to diss honda but, they need to release something soon!!!!

Who needs reverse? I like the liquid cooling, thats it.

liquid cooling is nice on the z but ive rode one with axis shocks and gpr stabilzer 20inch back tires...its amazin how much head shake those things have the overall handling didnt feel good to me...ill stick with my 400ex

Time will tell on the reliability of the yzf450. The basic motor is proven, but the chassis is new.

To be quite honest, we all know how Honda was burned with the lawsuits of the late 80's. I have a sinking feeling that the new Honda will not be up to snuff...

Reliable, yes. True uncompromised high performance like the yzf40? Don't bank on it.

Thats because yamaha didn't have anything to really compete in mx till now. Wait a little while then see how many 400exs are still on the line. I'm not saying they suck are anything they are great machines. I almost bought one but bought the raptor instead. What a dump idea. Don't get me wrong i love the rappy(not for mx though) but it' s going to get traded in now for the yfz or if honda comes out with something maybe i'll get it.

yeah im noticin race after race there are gettin to be more z400's but i dont think they will ever outnumber the 400ex

Yes thats Jeff. That is the pro class at the last Mid-South harescamble and that 400 was fourth and it also was Brad Pages brother piloting it. The z/kfxs were 1-3 finishing.
