What fuel do you guys use? Anyone use Nitro Propane?

i was using VP Racing 100. mix it with 93 pump and 108 in the can. it worked alright for me. i was thinking of a few things so i asked my uncle who has been fixing engines for 40 years. he knows anything and everything about them. he told me to try Nitro Propane. it's 600 bucks for a 5 gallon but you only mix it with pump gas 10%. he said it won't burn up the piston or hurt it. he said you'd have to run 20% or 30% to hurt it. he said you have to get a MUCH bigger main jet to run this stuff though. for one gallon it's about 110 bucks or so. so if i race 4 laps i need a half gallon. 10% of that wouldn't be too much money would it? my dad is goin to talk to Mark Thomas (sponsor) tomorrow about buying some for me. he gets me some free stuff for my races, he's cool. but what do you guys run?

no, it's not that. nitro propane is in between high octane and nitrous. but you can only run 10%. i'm thinking about getting some.

mine is $8.43 a gallon. stuff is expensive! unless my sponsors pay for a gallon and i mix it 10% for races only every other weekend or something there's no way i'm getting it.

Pump gas. There are no benefits to running anything other than it unless you have a high (11.5:1 or higher) compression motor, or some serious head work.

Me though, I run 87octane pump gas from the local gas station, $1.43 a gallon:devil: And it runs good enought wit it:cool: For what u guys pay for gas I can go like 15 times farther:D

I use pump gas I don't need to waste that much money on my quad. But this one time I got some 93 for the price of regular I didn't notice to much diffrence

on my TC Racing slip they gave me they said it is 355.08, no excessive ideling(60 seconds), change oil every 6 hours for race, 10 for trails, they said run minimum of 100 octane, an oil cooler would help a lot, keep the fins clean, and a couple other things. they said it might not even run under 100 octane and it does but it's not real good for it.

You only have a Wiseco 10:1. Which means its prolly not even 10:1. You could probably run pump gas if you really needed to.:ermm:

Straight vp c12 at $40 for a 5 gallon drum, and I burn about 5-10 gallons per day on a trip:D

In pismo they just started supplying Trick racing fuel.. if it is priced right you guys think I should try it out??

Is it better than the Vp stuff?? I need 105 motor octane at the minimum.. or....... poof, boom:(

this a link for some klotz addative that is a 50-50 mix with nitro propane. i did not notice a big diffrence with it.


For just an adative to pour into race gas try propolyne oxide. you can get it here from bushhog racing @ 1-800-340-race. it will give you as much power as you are brave enogh to pour in!!!! i only pour a few ounces into 5 gals of sunnoco purple 112 octane and it makes a huge diffrence.

Yep, go for the Trick, thats what I run in my R, so it oughta work with your's.;)
