I accidentally spilled oil on my pipe while it was hot today and the chrome turned. A friend of mine said to try to use oven cleaner on it after I get it hot again. Will this work? I figured it was ruined. Also will mixing octane booster with 93 octane make a suitable race gas? Thanks

Octane booster is a no-no. The disadvantages outweigh the rewards.

Lacquer thinner or carburetor cleaner should remove the oil. If you use oven cleaner MAKE SURE you stay away from aluminum parts. It oxidizes (bascially aluminum rust) almost instantly, and leaves a permanant (removable only by sanding) white film on the aluminum. I learned this the hard way.
