It all matters if it was built right. just putting a 440 in wont do as much as if you were to put in a cam and porting and all that good stuff. compression is also a big factor. It all depends on how much money you have to spend.

a 440 kit alone aint much.. i think its like 3 hp.... oh ya u got higher compression, that will prolly get ya another 2hp. Oh wait its a Weisco 440.. oh better drop that down to just a 1 gain on the compression hp.

Get a nice cam... bigger the better ussually, and a carb ..

Thats a pretty basic setup .. all them mods work well together.

bigger cam, port the head, fcr 39mm carb

I run a 426 13:1 with ported head, gt thunder cam, fcr39 carb, lightened flywheel, took the welds out of the headers, HMF pipe, and K&N filter. the thing screams. the low end is unreal on it. with the 13:1 I put a new rod in too just to be safe. but for your 440 you might want to look into getting your head ported, or even doing it yourself(I did my own) If money isnt of any concern go with a really wild cam and hardened rockers and oversized valves with a set of springs and titanium retainers. there is alot more you can do its all up to you

How did you port your head by yourself?

i would have called up sparks racing or you can just go to sparks site and order stuff from his 440 kit. i have rode bikes with his kit and they fly.

I bought a kit from eastwood it came with a mini die grinder, and a whole bunch of bits and a video on how to do it yourself. its not all that hard. the kit is only like $50 or something like that. www.eastwoodco.com
