Has anyone been out to Sarco lately? I sold my 250r a few years ago and i am looking into building or buying another bike, but i want to make sure there are some places left to ride. Alot of people have said this place is hot but has anyone been there lately?

definately is! i went there a few years ago...when i first got my warrior in 2000 and we found this "secret" spot were we could get in park, and ride around with no problems...well i havent ridden there until i wanted to go back a few weeks ago..well we decided to find that place where we ocould park and go ride, well w2e pulled in, 2 minutes later, two troopers we're at our window asking us to leave and there is no riding permitted here anymore..

really sucks that placed rocked!:grr:

I went there about a month ago, not many people riding but all was good and very quiet, You need parking. If you find a good spot like the one I have you will no problem riding there its too large to get caught in there.

It sucks you cant ride there anymore! I grew up riding there since i was about 12 yrs old and never had problems until about 2 years ago. I was hoping this place would have cooled off by now, i live less then 10 minutes away! I got a tresspassing ticket about 1 1/2 ago for riding my mountain bike in Sarco. It sucked because if i had my quad i could have made a run for it, but not on a mountain bike. *******s

I was there in Mid March and it was fine, lots of people riding and no cops. I was never busted there but i was told to leave once 2 years ago and there always is the normal visit in the main pit from a Squad car, but they can't do much. Everyone liked to park at one particular deadend but i know the cops have bothered people down there and if you cross the railroad tracks you enter Manchester and they have no tolerance for ATV's. Well at least you guys can know that if i ever win the Mega-million jackpot I'll buy this place up and make an ATV park since it's my favorite spot.

i agree with you suzuki 400 about not stopping while you are out there, but thats half the fun of going to sarco. Stopping at the lake, going swimming and kicking a couple of brews. Its just such a shame to have all that great land and all those trails and it just sits there.

I would still like to know how you get from Sarco to Gliddens. You do have to cross either route 70 or 37 right? That is pretty darn risky. Have you guys also seen where Lakewood is trying to impose huge fines and even jail time for ATV's??
Here is an email i got from someone else.

you ride under route 70 on the tracks, i have never done but looked into doing it once. it can be done i have ridden on both ends of the track but never gone the whole way. and you go directly to gliddens you have to go into stavolas then take the tracks that go left (if your comin from sarco) down the main road of the pit and get back on the train track for another miles or 2 the trip from sarco to stavolas is about 5 though

Yeah, i saw some old guy baclk in there once catching Bass in the second big lake there. The lake with the small beach and it's not as deep as the big lake and has lots of weeds. Funny thing is that he had his fishing license on his hat, i said to him that i don't that matters since we are ALL trespassing.

the tracks you take are similar to what your saying optikid

when your heading from the first lake lets say starting from the back near were you would start into sarco from north hampton
and head to the pitts,,,, you have to cross over train tracks,,, if you heading to the pit that way which you would then stay all the way towards your right and follow the tracks staying right along the water. keep going to you come in back of a building and the tracks cross over eachother near like you said 70 but your under it, head about 20 minutes staying on the tracks, you end up right in gliddens......

:eek2:

optikid123
08-07-2003, 12:15 PM
then you would end up in stavolas which is like another 10 min ride to gliddens

I used to ride at exit 63 off gsp right off the exit i think it was called stafford dump.. now cops on quads for the past 2 years now

Hey go in the back on sarco to where you come onto 70 and can cross the street to what looks like more riding...?
