250x cams????

Hey guys, just wonderin what ya all thought. This winter I would like to put a hotter cam in my x but I don't have any engine work so I was figurin to just have a cam but I was wonderin what type I should get and if its worth it:confused: Seems like most of the mags say its a good idea. I do tight trails, and mx so what should I get and how much ya think it will cost me, thanks :cool:

I got a 300 ex which takes the same cam as a 250x, i got a stock motor like you and i really noticed no gains. I think you would probably need a high compression piston to notice much, i got a webb #236 grind i think its the first size requiring hardened rockers and stiffer springs. This is just my experince maybe a more aggressive cam would have been the ticket? If i had it to do over i would get the piston maybe port work then the cam. But good luck on what ever you do .
