How often you change your plug is determined almost 100% on your jetting. If your jetting is perfect, you'll rarely change a plug on either (a couple times a year).

My jetting is perfect on my CR, and I have never fouled a plug. After a year and a half of ownership, I have only changed the plug twice, just because I felt like it, and with it sparking over 100 times a second, I figure something in there must wear out. I've changed the plug in my 440 twice as well, and owned it for 2 years.

I've changed the plug on my 400 once since I owned it. It didn't need it then but I changed it anyway.

Yes ;) I have never had to change a plug in the 400 or the 300, or my sled, but I have changed them because they were flooded.

Bean,
Are the 9's colder or hotter plugs than the 8's? I'm running an 8 right now and I'm fouling it every 5 minutes, dunno if its the jetting, or too cold of a plug...
It's wet-fouled, So I'm gonna try and go a lil leaner on the jetting (105 race gas ain't cheap, lol)

9's are colder I believe.

I change mine every 2 races...sometimes after just one race depending on how it looks. Gotta be sure you're gettin the correct spark. :D

9 is colder, if it is fouling an 8 in 5min, i think your jetting is wrong

that, or you did not buy high proformance stickers for your plastic, and your plugs dont have gold on them, lmao
