can you put 250r a-arms on a 400ex?

For the most part, NO. The pivots are wider on a 250R and won't fit into the mounts in most cases.

Some aftermarket arms, however, are made to fit both, and just use different spacers for each. I'd check with the MFR of the arms to see if they'll work or not.

Also.... something to keep in mind. 400EX a-arms ARE +1 inch forward on a 250R. If you put stock-style 250R arms on a 400EX, it would shorten your wheelbase.

i was thinking about puting 250R american star a-arms on a stock frame they are +2 +1, so do you think they would fit, or would I just need contact them and ask?

You would have to call them and ask. The only ones I know for sure will fit either quad is Arens. (I have a set) I had some Laeger's, and they would not interchange.

If you are buying them new just order the right ones that you need.
