It all depends on if you want the 4 stroke power, or the quick revs of the 2 stroke.

keep the z.... if you go to the tracks there is hardly any r's around anymore... and ppl who have them are gettin rid of them for a 4 stoke... i mean it's totally up to you but i would keep the z

i love my 250r to death but i hate how its 17 years old... the maintness on them isnt too bad, you always have to keep on top of them all the time. if the 250r you buy hasnt been rebuilt then its gonna cost a ton of money... my 250r was mostly stock when i got it, but it had some troubles. i think every penny i put into my 250r was worth it.

it all depends, like other people said. do you want the quick revving 2stroke, or the reliable 4stroke. 250rs will always be around forever, you should wait untill the new honda comes out, and people will be giving away tricked out R's just to get the honda, that is when you will find your best deals on the R...

go out and ride an R, then hoop on your Z. thats the only way to really deside...

either way, best of luck to you, on what ever you choose, there both great machines

Give a hand to tants, he basically summed up all the great info into one post. The only way you can decide what you want is to ride one. I 100% agree to wait till the new Honda comes out to get sweet , 20,000 dollar R's for the price of a new TRX90.:D Don't ya just love supply and demand.:p

People alaways talk about reliablity on a 2stroke well i have never had any reliabality problems just some usual stuff that anyone will have. I love my quad and did think about gettin a 4stroke but they are just to expensive and i can ride 2stroke alot better thats what i have alaways ridden just depends on ur style u can prob sell u Z or trade it for a trick R man thats what i would prob do

I would go with the 250R. Yeah... its old and "archaic", but its also light, fast, easy to repair and modify, and the stock frame will hold up a hell of a lot better. Everyone I know that has a Z400 is breaking the frames to bits.

yea i agree with all of them about the r they are really good on maintanence too its not hard atall to keep up with them i mean no valves cams cam chain. im getting rid of my r just got it back together today took her out for a ride i was in the same dilema whether i should get rid of it or not. but i wanna try a 4 stroke so i think shes gonna go. oh yeah if you wanna trade iam willing to lol ill even get the shocks valved for ya.
