Hi all, I'm new here so (like everyone else) I'll start with a question! .. I'm looking to get a White Brothers rev box for my 99 400EX..What do you guy's think about it? I'm trying to gain more power for little money. Any info or idea's would be appreciated. Thanks!

ive got the rev kit, but honestly, i cant tell much of a difference. i would start with an exhaust system and airfilter upgrade. a good full exhaust and k & n (or equivilent) will run you in the $500 range. if you go with just a slip-on, $300. if i had it to do over again, i wouldnt have spent the $100 on the rev kit. just my 2 cents worth

opening up the air box and jetting a size bigger will give more gains than the rev box. the rev box may just give a very little topend increase.

I wish this would be posted all over the site somewhere. By increasing the MAX RPM on a stock 400EX motor (internally), it will NOT gain HP. An internally stock 400EX motor stops producing power gains well before the stock rev limiter. If you open the motor up, do some headwork, cam, bore kit...then you might gain some power... it mainly depends on your cam setup.

ya it wont help unless you got some stuff done to the motor

Heard there are also boxes out there that don't just get rid of the limiter but also change the power curve, so you would gain hp at all rpms...

Sadly I can't back that up with personal experience.

Thanks for your input guys..You saved me a 100 bucks! I'm gonna put that money toward a nice slip-on exhaust and a k&n air filter.. :D J

sorry to dig up an old thread, but you guys complain if i dont search so i did but nothing i needed to know came up.

my question is, if i get a hot cam stage 1 installed, and get a rev box with my pipe i have, will i gain anything at all? or is it still not worth the money to get a rev box?
