In my 400ex i'm running mobil 1 15w-50 and i was wondering if since the oweners manual says that 15w-50 is only good to -5 degrees celcius. since the coldest in the winter hear is -15 celcius i was wondering if i could still run my 15w-50 mobil 1.

thanks

No. You should be running 10W-30 in those temperatures. The colder it gets, the THINNER or an oil you need, and vice versa. -5C is the MAXIMUM and most extreme of the range 15W-50 can work in, so I wouldnt trust it. I like to keep things simple, 10W-30 all year round except June-August, in which I run 10W-40.

I'm gonna say 15/50 is fine. Thats all I ever ran in the winter times around here near Pittsburgh, PA.... you have to remember that synthetic oils heat up MUCH faster to their operating temps vs dino oil. I always warm my quad up before I ride if its dead cold anyways...
