Out where we normally ride there are a few table tops and I jump them just fine. Today we found a nice double. How do I know what gear I need to jump it in with out over jumping or nailing the landing ramp?

Thanks

just gotta know..

after riding so long you can figure out what gear you need to hit it in. But i usually take a few small hits at it first to see the way the lip is .. but on a 300 i usually have to hit most of my jumps in 4th..

compare it to the tables. make a height and angle check of the take off ramp. compare it to the table. watch your buddies jump it to make sure you have enough. watch them be the testers. and remember its always better to jump to far then to short.

The ground is so messed up between the jump that I cant just roll over it to test it and If i land to short on that stuff even if i dont hit the landing ramp Im going to be hurting pretty badly.

It is nothing like the table tops I jump. It is way steeper. The only person I have ever seen jump it was a 20 year old on a yz250. He jumped it in 3rd.

if that dude hit that in third on his yz. you better be hauling balls to make the jump. just dont do anything beyond your skill. i forget who was talking about this before. make sure your 110% sure. just keep rolling up to it, think about. get some balls and go for it.

watch the guy on the yz. how fast he was going. and probally go just a little faster because he was on a bike and your on a quad.

I dont know him and I only saw him there once so I cant watch him again. He was flying when he went over it.

after a while you can just figure those things out. just hit it or you never will, you can think about it all day long but it wont matter if you never hit it. but dont do it unless your 110% sure or are willing to take the consequences of a crash on that jump, good luck

Does anyone else hit it? If so just follow them to just judge the speed etc. If not, well I would wait to see if someone else will....

Good luck!

out of my group I will be the first to hit it. I have only seen one other person jump it and as I said they were in 3rd on a yz 250. Noone else will jump it. They measured it today and said its about a 15 foot gap and then another 10 feet before the landing actually starts but it is flat untill the landing after the first 15 feet. Basicly if I land in the first 15 feet I will find the quad on top of me :p There is no way to roll over it because the ground is so screwd up during that 15 feet.
