Putting a 250r or 400ex sub frame on a 300 frame.

i want to do this because i am putting a xr500 motor in my frame so i want to use the dual pipes for a 400ex and it comes with the aluminum air box which won't work on my frame...i'm pretty sure it would work without even welding you could cut the frame drill the holes and put the bolts though...line it up first....what do you guys think? i think it would be a good idea...:macho

if i bought a 400 frame i would have to buy all the 400 parts such as swinger and ect. which i can't. and if you didn't notice i like being different :devil: so....i think if i can get a frame that is bent in the back for very cheap i'm gonna try it :macho

dude, if you actually do this, make sure you gusset your frame, and it wouldnt hurt to reweld all the stock welds, my frame and other componets are cracking like crazy, im sure it will be alot worse with an XR500 motor:confused2

If the XR500 doesnt exist then neither does the XR350. The old XR/250X/now the 300EX engines are all from the same family more or less. Yes there was an XR500 but later they redesigned the engine and made it into a 600. I suppose that now you're going to tell me that Honda never made a CR450.

pvt. you will need to cut the subframe off and then weld some mounts and then tap it so you can hold it on.

Why would you want a 400ex subframe on a 300ex frame?
If anything mod your 300ex frame so the subframe is removable.

your gonna have to find a new way to mount the fenders, seat, new airboot,,, etc. ditch it you will have more problems...

well heres the plan...i dropped the xr500 motor idea....i'm going full blown 330 i'm getting 400ex +2 a-arms custom works 350x swinger and axle i'm also not trying the 400 sub on the 300 i looked at my frame and its not really a good idea....but you guys will love my quad when its done i promise you that :devil: :macho

For the money your putting into your 300, you could just buy a stock or even slightly modded 400 and be way faster and handle better.
