Hello,
I recently went to an atv salvage yard and bought some parts (motor, a-arms, ext..) to put an atv together using a frame that has been wrecked and redone. Anyway, I want to get a title for it so i can get it registered and insured so i can ride it on state land. can anyone help me out? There isn't any vin #'s on the frame, they must have been scratched in the wreck or when the shop was fixing the frame. I know there is suppose to be one on the motor but i looked everywhere and i didn't see any #'s. Any help would be great. I hope i'm not wasting my time putting this thing together when i want to make a sweet trail machine!
Thanks

Wow, you have to register and insure your four wheeler in PA to ride on state land?

I have mine titled and insured but its not neccessary to operate on state or private land?

Where did you buy the frame from, does that person have any record of it, salvage yards should have to keep records on bikes they buy?

if you had the frame, shouldn't you have the title when you bought the quad?

You had to get that raptor frame frome somewhere, scrap yards keep records, do you know where it was originally purchased or who purchased from what dealer?

i received the frame in a trade from a some guy. the bike was wrecked, so he must have stripped it down and parted it out. and i ended up with the frame, I had the frame fixed and now i notice i don't have a vin #. i would contact the guy but i i don't know him and do'nt have any way contacting him.

Dont know what to say other that to go to a scrap yard and find a frame thats is FUBAR that you know know one will ever use again, get the vin # off it and the scribe it into yours. Use that one, all you need is a numer. Should work dont see why not, but other than that you may be screwed. Unless you can go to the state liscense office, explain the vin # is gone and see if they will assign it a #. In michigan If you build a Vehicle, example home made trailer or even a sand rail, there is no facotry number so they assign your drivers liscense number to it. If those dont work I dont know what to tell ya.

 ;) ;) ;) ;)

yeah i thought since it was a custom bike, they would assign me a #, but i don't know. I'll contact the dcnr people tomarrow. If anyone else has any more info please help.
Thanks
