i was just curious if anyone ever tried to run a colder plug in the summer months? i have tried it in my 400ex and it definately misses alittle more but i can't tell a difference in temperature or anything. could anyone notice anything different? what plug did you try?

i tried a colder plug in my 300 i went from a dr7es do a dr8es and it sucks. looses lots of power...runs richer, cuz the fuel isn't being burnt as fast... but when i put the 7 back in its like night and day difference

the only reason you should run a colder plug is if you are going to spray nitrous.try 1 heat range hotter

When I am riding hard in the dunes I remove my stock, DRP8Z and install a DRP9Z for long periods of high speed riding, it keeps the motor cooler when riding a long ways at high speeds.

Actually it tells you to do this in your owners manual also.
