250r wiring harness

i want a new wiring harness for my 250r to see if that is the problem before buying a new stator. i ordered one from service honda, but they say that it is discontinued. Can i use a wiring harness from another year, or from a CR250 maybe? or is there anyplace else that i could get it from? thanks

I just had the same problem...I changed mine to a cr 250 stater cdi wiring harness...I got mine from ESR. It really works great now.

east coast atv proabably has a stock harness in stock. check your stator before you buy anything. a serive manual should state what the stator should ohmn out to. I had a problem with my r and it was the stator. if you put in a new stator you will probably need to rejet, because the spark will be alot stronger.

i looked at my manual and tried to check my stator and my CDI and couldnt figure out how to test them. i tested my coil and it was fine, but i wanted to replace the stator anyway becuase the previous owner didnt do a good job wiring the killswitch and taking out the lightswitch etc. is there any special tester i need to buy, or someplace i oculd bring it get it tested? thanx for everything.

I had the same experience ordering from a harness from Honda. Call CAL-ATV. They had them in stock last Dec, they should still have more.
