300ex supertrap

Its an older supertrap. Way larger pipe from head back. It seems to run better on low end. Kinda fell short on top end. If im running 1/2 throttle or so, and let it idle down while still in gear without me pulling on the clutch. It pops a little. It I grab the clutch, it idles down fast and perfect, no popping. Is this because the spark arrestor is missing. The guy said he can get htem back for me.

did you rejet after adding the pipe.sounds like its jetted wrong

no, i didnt rejet. The pipe is the only mod done to it. I will purchase a k&n and a jet kit...see if that helps me any
