should i buy a new or used 300ex ??
if a used one what should i watch for??

if it is used look for frame cracks/welds, plastic condition, bent bars, running condition, axel bearing, swingarm cracks/welds, and other things like some ppl will suggest, i just cant think

you can buy mine. it is is complete stock form now. took every thing off and rejet the carb and cleaned her. it is in great condition. frame is perfect with no stress marks. let me know

If you are going to go used, I'd suggest the 400ex over the 300ex

I voted new. The only was i would buy used is off my buddies and knew how they rode. Since honda is dragging there arses here you could get a new 300ex pretty cheap right now.

i just talked to my friend aftr i called the honda shop and they have went up 1000$ since he bought his new 2001

and what can u put on a 300ex for a back up starter

and i need a 300 all i do is trail and mud ridin and i need to back up

huh? the 300EX is going up in price??? Is this the same dealer that charged you $100 for a rear brake job?? LMFAO

As for your backup starter, push that SOB and pop the clutch.... or find a hill...

but i think its a evil dealer lol he wont take trade ins and wont come down a cent on the bikes well he will take trade ins but on a bike that is worth 5 thou he will give u 3 thou and remember im in canadian dollars

If I were you, I'd be looking at another dealer. Brand new 300EX's are not flying out the doors of Honda dealerships.... you should be able to get a very good deal now.

Honestly, thats what I'd do. When I bought my 400, there were not many out on the used market for a good deal. If I were buying a 400EX today, I know it would be a good used one.

used..check out Sparkey416ex's..he has a darn nice one for sale..its a 1998.

In the classifieds it is labled something like "pro 330EX ORANGE"

i say go w/ a used 400ex ... much better quad n now that suzuki n yam n kawa got these new qudas u can find a 400 for cheap but even if ur goin strictly for a 300ex id stick w/ used too
