Hey there,

I'm getting some new paddles and rims. I can get a deal on some 10x9 Douglas .125's. Just wondering what you all think about these for rears in the dunes. I ride plenty hard and am a pretty big boy so...I don't wanna replace them after 1 season ya know...:p

Share your thoughts if you wish..

ahh i'd hate to say it but i dont think they'd hold up for more than one season...they're really not that strong, especially if you ride hard

OK, your not that big, and you don't ride that hard!!! Kidding:) If I dont bend them you won't either. It is important to keep your weight down. More tire spin.

I have .125's with Haulers on the rear and they are holding up fine with about a dozen or so trips to the dunes.. There is one minor bend on the inside lip of one rim but it still holds air fine. I'm about 180# with gear.

"Riding hard" is a relative term, I suppose I ride kinda hard, I surely don't just ride around the bowls and roll over the dunes. I do get a little air....anything over 2-3' up and I get scared :o I also ride the trails the dunes, some of which have some nasty roots sticking out. I think that is where I got the one bend.

I don't know about duning but if I look at my .190 hard they will bend, I can imagine how .125 are.

i would get 190s i dont see how they can say the 190s are for mx xc riding because they stood up to 5 mx races and my cousin had to get new ones, they just fold over , you could try .125s tho

i use .125 with my paddles and i have jumped with them and i have never had problems. they just say not to jump to big with them but as long as you don't jump to big and dune ride with them they should be fine.

Yea, I've jumped plenty big with .125's, and didnt bend em. I flatspotted all four though in a gravity cavity type deal 5th gear pinned on the Shee....there was a single whoop right in the bottom.:ermm:

I have 19-6-10 holeshots on .190 That I have bent more than 15 times. I have to keep the tires way pumped up or else I wouldn't even make it back to the truck.
