View Full Version : Anyone know where the oil filter is on a 86 honda trx 200sx?

the sub says it all... i need to know where it is i got a friend in another state needing to know lol... i have no idea but i said on the right side of the motor in the transmission and crank case like on a 300ex... need to know fast

To tell ya the truth I don't think that the older Honda's had oil filters. Well at least I have never changed one. I do not think it has one.

Hmmmmm..... if I remember right (its been 15 years or so) but I think my old 86 Yamaha Moto 4 did not have an oil filter...I think they just have an internal oil screen. I would imagine the Honda's of that time would be the same. :confused:

When you take the oil plug off there should be a screen that is the oil filter. You can take it out and wash it off i guess. But there is no actual oil filter.

They don't have an oil filter. I think they have a screen but I have never cleaned mine. Those things are so reliable I think they will run without oil. I have rode the wheels off mine. literally.

Yep, I'd be embarrased to say how often my oil would get changed in the old yammy. That thing was pretty damn reliable, I gotta admit.

me too..man mines a beast...and one time my friend took my lug nuts off so i rode the wheels off it :rolleyes: ...but yeah i take care of it but the guy that had it before me whiped the $hit out of it and it stuill runs like from the dealer:D
