Ok ive narrowed it down to 2 exhaust on my Stock 400ex. HMF or LRD? Is the HMF louder than the LRD? And does it produce more power? Or is the LRD louder and give more power than the HMF? NOTE: I only want the slip on. Someone please help me

Of the reviews and post I have read the LRD would seem to be the better of the two. Do some research!!!

Haven't seen many HMF pipes out there.
I like the LRD and it's loud! Yosi is pretty loud too....

I don't think LRD even sells a slip on??..............I could be wrong?

Nope they came out with one like a few months ago. It is called the power slip-on. It looks like a good pipe especially since it is from lrd. But I ened up going with a full hmf pipe though:D

i have both hmf and lrd full systems. the hmf is better fit and finish, the lrd makes better low end power. hmf is louder then the lrd.

Oh ok thanks for the info pappy, but did you see good power gains with the hmf?

hard to tell because i had a completely new 425 when i got the hmf. i have noticed the huge diameter of the hmf headpipe and would geuss that would kill a bit of low end on a stock engine. maybe one day ill swap the systems and see if i feel a difference

Oh yeah thats true i didnt think about you havin a 425 and me with a stock motor. Yeah i cant believe from what how big the headpipe is i can't wait to get it today. I guess the bigger heapipe must have been the modification that they made on the pipe. because when i orderd it hmf said they redid there headpipe. so it was supposed to more power than what there website said.

I got the HMF slip on and I like it. Decent gains, I would say. But I don't think you should get the full system unless you got some engine mods. Pappy's header seems huge compared to my stocker. It is loud too. But for $35 you can get the quiet core. I don't know if LRD sells those.

Also, it does not come with a spark arrestor. So if you ride in a area that needs one, you'll have to order that too.

well actually hmf hooked me up and they are sending me a free spark arrestor along with it. but on their website it said to use the slip-on with moded engines and the full for either moded or stock, but i plan on getting a cam and piston eventually thought anyways.

im running the lrd full system....ive rode ex's with many types of exhausts have havent came across one that worked as good as the lrd....im 110% satisified with it. when/if i open up my engine up lrd will be getting it.
