Is that ramp built for 80 feet? What gear were you hitting it in when that pic was taken?

Juggalo
07-21-2003, 04:50 AM
yeha chef the ramp is designed for an 80 foot gap but i dunno if the quad will pull that size off. you'd have to hit it ultra fast. i was hittin that small gap in real low third gear, i coulda done it as easy in second but third kept the front end down better.

milf hunter, i don't have any pics of the landing but i would say its maybe around 15 feet tall at least and its really steep. its a nice smooth landing. huge too! i'll try to get some pics of it for ya next time i am out there.

sweet pic :D That really launches you! I built a jump this weekend just for distance and we only were getting 1-2' of air, but we were launching over 30' in second. I am not to great at building jumps that launch you up and far yet...

Cant wait for more pics!

i think its harder to do on a quad than a dirtbike, and a quad looks 100 times sweeter.

I pull that stuff all the time! LOL JK, but I want to build a ramp now! I can get all the steel and stuff pretty cheap and I have all the equipment to make one (I was looking at them last night...) I want to make one after the winter, when I have the time, and new shocks :D

I want to see some pics of that stuff 2001 trx400ex! Sounds like your heading to greatness :eek2:

Yeah Rip_Tear, Once I get the Long Travel for the R I will give a a shout... You will prolly be down here by then. Where are you gong to be stayin ?? On campus ? Where you keepin your quad ? When you gunna be down here ? Just wondering cause then you can phone me and we can go riding.

2001 trx400ex
08-07-2003, 05:31 PM
you dont need long travel suspension to jump, you just need the right lip and the right landing.

I guess you didn't realise I said YOU are heading for greatness...

I will be staying on Campus, I will be keeping my quad here, but when you want to go riding I will bring the EX up and leave it at your house if you dont mind :D But I want to keep it here mostly because I have my track to ride on here  I should hopefully finish it tomorrow! All I have left to do is build jumps!

we got the metal mallisha ramp to its 4 feet wide, just wide enough for a quad and 10 feet high with a 65 degree angle. Goin out on the 15th to hit it.

08-26-2003, 06:36 PM

4 feet wide? dude that could get ugly if you hit that with a quad. :confused2 the one i have now is 6'4" and i wish it was 8 feet wide...

MILF_HUNTER
08-28-2003, 02:22 PM
my freestyle industries ramp is 6 ft wide and thats enough to be safe on. an 8ft ramp would be ideal but you can get away with a 6ft wide ramp safely.

2001 trx400ex
08-28-2003, 02:54 PM
4 feet is fine, 48 inches because a 400ex is 46 inches. Or maybe i am just a nut on a quad and thats the reason i was the first to hit them ramps since they were built 3 years ago.

Juggalo
08-28-2003, 05:37 PM
my old ramp was 5 feet and that was pretty sketchy already! i couldn't imagine 4 feet. i won't ever build another ramp less than 8 feet wide. having so much room to play with on the rev is so nice.

MILF_HUNTER
08-28-2003, 05:57 PM
hey juggalo what do you use to pull your ramp back when you want to move it. i just use my truck. even at 6ft wide my ramp is heavy as hell but i guess the axle on it ads weight. 8 feet wide would be nice but it wasnt in my budget. id like to make widen it to 8 ft when i start hitting it with my sled

Juggalo
08-29-2003, 02:29 AM
we either hook the hitch up to it and pull it with a truck (since its also a trailer) but usually we just pick up one end with the skid loader and move it back.
