wish i could strapped for cash, going to buy quiksilver carb and go from there. what all will need replace wehn going to a 416? i heard the thinner xr gasket will bump up compression.btw after i get the 416 im looking into hot cams stage 2 not sure but ya know idea's cahnge when you have awhile to think about stuff.

For the price of the Edelbrock you can get a piston, bore and a cam.You need a reason for more fuel,a stock motor will not see great benifits.

ok nother question, the stock sleeve cannot be bored to a 416 right? well i just checked out JE and Ross piston website's, they sell only the piston, not the sleeves? sorry i ask so many dam questions, im 15 trying to do this on a tight budget cant afford to screw anything up....

The 416 is 2 sizes up from stock, leaving you one more bore(426)You do not need a new sleeve.

Dude, do the build, either the Ross or the Je. A good shop like C&D can get you right! then save for an fcr 39 or your edelbrock and the sparks pipe. Get an inexpensive used slip on e-series, fmf slip on or T-4 utill you get the money for full Sparks pipe and carb.

.080 will bring you to a 416..

A 11:1 piston or lower and a drop in cam will get you the power you want I"m sure..:macho

actually i believe its a 10.8 with the xr gasket kit. Its like a 10.5:1 with the EX kit. The piston is actually for the Xr:D

my 416 ( as per sig) is done with base and stock honda top. We calculalated at 10.2:1 at the least. Traded a few points for reliability and avoidance of detonation with pump gas. Extremely happy with the outcome. :D
