after i put my lrd exhuast on, i started up my 250r, let it warm up, and took it for a ride to feel the power gain from the pipe. after i rode it for about 5 mins around my house, i parked it, as i was sitting on the quad i bent over because i droped my goggles, and my leg hit the exhust, my skin burnt right off, some of the burnt skin stuck to the exhuast...

always wear pants... even if your just riding around your house... :o

ahhh i got pics, but i cant post them...

I fell once in shorts and my bike landed pipe side down on my leg. I've only ridden in shorts once after that, with long socks and knee pads, and I still dont think it was too smart. The pipe on my 125 is much lower than where it was on my XR100 (bike i got burned on) so its somewhat safer.

yep the new lrd exhaust for the 400s come out far up front and when i was resting my legs on the front tires and and went to bring them back in to the pegs my leg hit the pipe, evne for a split second it hurts like a mofo.

I can see in my fox riding pants where it has melted them a bit.

I wear shorts, but only with my Riding Boots...that way I won't burn my leg.

 If it bubbled up kinda like poison ivy, you could always pop it, or poke it with a pin:eek:

I've had that happen alot with my dirt bike's, esepecially old ones, never on a quad yet though..........

Everyone likes to go without pants sometimes LOL:ermm:

Change that statement to always wear pants when riding (a bike or quad).

yeah you'll have to keep on draning it for a few days. MY grandma ( who's over from england) Burnt her finger on a pan and she was draining that for like 3 days or most i think

a couple years ago i had an older dirtbike that i used to ride alot with shorts in the summer.. Well i was ridin it wiht a friend for a few hours and you could just feal the heat comin off the engine like a sauna (air cooled).. i was jumping off into little trails and on trail was dug into big ruts by fourwheelers and my front tire landed awkward, my leg right above the knee landed on the engine andi couldnt move. my buddy had to get me off of it, my skin was sizzling on the engine stuck to it all over.. And now to this day i have a 4 inch long,2inch high burn on my leg.. :huh

with my first bike(xl125) the pipe went under the peg, so i only had to watch out when i put my feet down...and the guy that i bought my other bike from(yz125)...he told me "dont wear shorts" and then he pulled his pants up and over his calf and showed me a HUGE burn....by that time i had mx boots, and i always wore those and jeans......i always wear jeans when i ride, not always my boots.....i have burnt snowpants before:D
