400EX Tie Rod and Tie Rod End Interchangeability???

Does any one know if the 400EX tie rods and tie rod ends will bolt directly on an '88 250R. The 400's are so much cheaper.

i know that 250r tie rods will work with 400ex tie rod ends, but the 400 tie rod ends arent nearly as strong, neither are the tie rods.:(
