Yuba supervisors make area off-limits to motorized vehicles

Yuba County supervisors banned most motorized vehicles from the Shad Pad on Tuesday and then hotly debated how they would choose a private contractor to run the recreational area.
The supervisors approved an urgency ordinance 4-1 to bar motor-driven vehicles from the 30 acres the county owns near the E Street bridge.
The Shad Pad is a popular spot for off-road vehicles, motorcycles and access to the Yuba River.
