What should i use to clean my axle

I got some used axles and i wanted to know what should I use to clean them they are dirty.

try some gas on a rag then after that use real fine sand paper to polish them up, it should work well

steel wool works really good too, after that try a lil mothers polish then just spray some wd 40 on it so it doesnt rust over
