I broke my piston on my back shock anyone think I will be able to salvage this thing?

ok I hit this 85ft double and my bike cut out and I busted my back shocks piston into 2 peices.... does anyone think I will be able to salvage this thing with just a rebuild???

I'm pretty sure it can be rebuilt.

Looks to me like it just needs a shaft and a sealhead.

thanks I am glad i dont have to buy a whole new back shock. I am 15 and I have to pay for all of this bye myself.

You should probably start saving for some aftermarket shocks or you're gonna end up busting your frame hitting jumps that big. Cool pics though.

I wish I could buy an axis back shock but I cant right now. I already have axis shocks up front and I broke both motor mounts off of the frame and my sub frame when I had this crash

i know some people have been selling them used for 75-150...and there 500 something new :eek:

Find another complete shock, I wouldn't trust the body after that kinda explosion.

yo man, tell your folks you need the new shock cause of safety, lol, promise to mow the lawn or whatever in exchange for mom charging you a new shock...you gotta compliment those fronts with the right rear setup or you be on your face again!

I really wish I could just tell them that and they would get me a new back shock but they wont help me out at all so I am just going to have to do a rebuild for now

look around i bet you can find one for 100 bucks wasnt sparks 425 selling his rear shock?

what kind of rebuild are you doing? i would just get a basic rebuild for now then save up alittle and go on ebay i have seen elka rear shocks and axis all kinds of shocks for like 500.00

yeah I will just be doing a basic rebuild....I will PM you if i ever get the money for a whole new shock;)
