Good Deal Or Not??

I was coming home from Wal-Mart the other day and ran across a yellow EX sittin out in the road ditch with a For Sale sign.. I stopped and checked it out a little bit. It's an 01 and the guy wants $4K even for it. I guess I played stupid and got him to let me ride it.. I think he was sorda shocked after telling me how to use a clutch, then seeing me ride a 3 gear wheelie. :devil:

Back to the EX... Like I said, 2001, stock bars, all the bearings I spot checked seemed to be tight.. He's got a full set of red OEM plastic with a One graphics kit on them, and a full set of yellow. He told me he sent it out to Cali (LA Sleeve) and had a 440 kit done.. I'm guessing it's an IMS box kit. It has a stock air filter, lid, and running an R4 pipe. The guy has kept it pretty clean.. Says he just doesn't have time to ride it anymore. Is it worth the $4K?

I find it a bit odd he has a 440 kit but nothing else done to it...speaking about the motor.

That's what I was thinking.. I was going to offer him $3500 and if he didn't take it, no loss. My guess is that if you were to see the guy that owns it, you'd believe him about the 440 kit.:rolleyes:

That don't seem bad for a 2001...as long as its in nice shape...
